Alex Paterson, Ph.D.
Alex is a data scientist based in Bristol with over 10 years of experience in next-generation sequencing. His passion for computers and biological research has driven his career in bioinformatics, leading to numerous successful global collaborations.
Alex graduated with a Ph.D. in molecular neuroscience and diagnostic medicine, focusing on next-generation sequencing technologies to detect blood-borne biomarkers of neurogenic hypertension.
He holds an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Surrey and an M.Sc. in Molecular Neuroscience from the University of Bristol. Alex has presented his research at international conferences and is dedicated to making bioinformatics services accessible to the broader research community.
In his downtime, Alex enjoys cycling, surfing, hiking, 3D printing and spending time with Ava.
